Hi, I’m Hemant

Welcome to Trek Pelican. This is where I share how everyday people can build real side income online through blogging, Pinterest, Facebook and digital products, plus simple ways to save more of what you earn.
No hype and no “get rich overnight” promises. Just honest, practical guides to earning more and spending smarter, with real numbers and screenshots wherever I can share them.
How It Started
I wrote my first blog posts in 2017 on a free WordPress.com site. It wasn’t serious. I just wanted to see if I could write, and whether I’d stick with it.
In 2019, I decided to take blogging seriously. I was a student with no income, and I was supposed to be focused on my studies. But I kept watching YouTube videos about “passive income,” money that keeps coming in while you sleep, with no limit on what you can earn. In my head, I was already making six figures a month like the people in those videos.
What those videos never mentioned was the hard work and deep knowledge behind those numbers.
I started on a free Blogspot site because I didn’t want to spend money. When I learned that a custom domain could improve my chances of getting approved for ads, I bought one, even though money was tight. For a long time, Google sent me almost no traffic. I made mistake after mistake before I slowly started seeing visitors.
Where My Money Lessons Came From
Long before I earned anything online, life taught me how to manage money. As a student, I handled everything on my own, without my parents there to fall back on. Every expense was mine to plan, from rent and food to books and bills.
Then came the job search. Months of applications with no steady paycheck forced me to stretch every bit of money I had. I learned to budget before the month started, cook at home instead of eating out, and save something every month, even when it was a small amount.
Those years taught me more about saving, budgeting and frugal living than any course could. I share those lessons here, along with research and trusted sources, so you get both real-life experience and solid information.
What I’ve Learned Since
Slowly, things started to work. My blog was approved for Google AdSense in December 2019, and I’ve earned from display ads through Ezoic since 2021. In 2023, I moved from Blogspot to WordPress with proper hosting and started treating my blog like a real business.
Over the years, I’ve:
- Grown a Pinterest account to 100 million impressions in a single month (October 2026)
- Earned income from Facebook pages
- Earned affiliate commissions through Amazon and LTK
- Sold digital products online
None of this happened quickly. Each one took years of testing, failing and trying again.
The Setbacks That Taught Me the Most
I’ve had my share of bad days. A Pinterest account with millions of monthly views was suspended overnight, and my appeal was rejected the very next day. All that work was gone in a few hours.
Later, Google’s AI updates cut my search traffic badly. The blog I had built for years suddenly got only a small share of the visitors it used to.
Both times, I had to start again. And both times, I learned something I now share here, like why you should never depend on one traffic source or one income stream.
